Analysis and Future Prospects of Technological Applications in Foreign Language Education in China (2015–2024): A Visualization Analysis of CNKI Academic Papers Using CiteSpace

Abstract

With rapid advancements in information technology, foreign language education technology has become a prominent research focus. This study uses CiteSpace to analyze 198 articles from CNKI (Core Journals and CSSCI database) published between 2015 and 2024. It examines publication trends, author and institutional collaborations, and keyword clustering to identify research hotspots and trends. Results show "broadly dispersed yet locally concentrated" collaborations. Key focuses include information technology application, digital transformation, theoretical-practical integration, and AI adoption, evolving from initial exploration to deep integration. Five future directions are proposed: data-driven teaching innovation, virtual reality applications, digital teaching model optimization, advanced AI integration, and resource sharing.
