Abstract

As a hot topic that has received much attention in the field of information technology in primary and secondary schools, computational thinking has become one of the core comprehensive skills that students must possess in the 21st century. However, at present, computational thinking is mainly cultivated in high schools and universities. The cultivation of computational thinking in junior high schools is still very weak. and the phenomenon of "emphasizing operation but not thinking" may occur. In order to solve the above problem, this study designed a framework for the development of computational thinking in junior high school students, and conducted teaching experiments with Mind+ and McQueen educational robots, and verified their effectiveness through interview outlines and scales. The results of the study demonstrate that the maker education activities for the cultivation of computational thinking of junior high school students can effectively improve the cognitive and ability levels of students' computational thinking, and we hope that this study can provide some help for cultivating computational thinking of junior high school students.
