Abstract

This study integrates trauma-informed design, STEAM-based interactive soft cloth books, and augmented reality (AR) technology, centering on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: “Good Health and Well-being.” In light of the long-term impact of childhood trauma on physical and mental development, and the lack of psychological support mechanisms in traditional education, this research proposes an interactive soft cloth book that combines tactile materials with AR to offer both educational and therapeutic value. Drawing on the developmental stages of children's brains, the design is based on a three-step counseling model and is developed into an interactive format. Augmented reality enhances the content by integrating virtual elements into the physical book, allowing children to engage in hands-on interaction. Through this element-driven structure, a trauma-informed atmosphere is created, encouraging surrounding individuals to offer greater support and understanding, ultimately helping more survivors emerge from the shadows of trauma.
